In cooperation with the Prognos AG research institute, a jury with representatives from science, media, politics and business will evaluate the submissions according to the following criteria:

Exemplary character
The novelty and uniqueness of the project will be evaluated. Whether or not democratic values were maintained during the implementation and the extent to which a link exists to the current discussion on urban development in Germany are also important issues that will play a role in the evaluation.

Transfer potential
Is the project relevant to other countries and contexts? In particular the transferability to German cities will be crucial to the evaluation.

Effectiveness
Whether or not there is an economic, social or ecological benefit: The effectiveness of the project is an essential element of the evaluation.

Efficiency
The jury will assess whether the resources invested in the project are proportionate to the benefit achieved.
